Was born
in Raleigh, N.C. August 9, 1943. Spent most of my youth in N.C. but at
12 years of age moved to Philadelphia, Pa. Returned to N.C. until 16
years old and moved back to Philadelphia. Dropped out of high school after completing 10th grade and joined the
Marine Corps and sworn in on Jan.3, 1961. Received my GED while in the
Corps and that was the extent of my education. Boot camp at P.I., school
at Pensacola then on to Kaneohe Bay. Went to Pleiku in Sept. of 1962 and
was one of a few that extend for a second tour and moved up to Phu Bai.
Last duty station was Camp Lejune and was discharged in December of
1964.
