I enlisted in June 1958. Did my boot in mcrd san diego. Went to Camp Pendleton,Sept.1958. Entered Radio Telegraph Operators Course Nov.1958,for 18 weeks. Graduate from the course in April 1959. Left for Oahu T.H. on 25 May 1959 aboard the USNS Gen.Shanks. Arrived at Camp Smith and the newly established 1stRadioCo FMFPac.After a few weeks we were transferred to MCAS Kaneohe Bay,and entered our permanent barracks there.
